This past weekend, Match.com was free to join. So I did. And can honestly say, it’s a little overwhelming. The number of responses I’ve gotten is amazing. A lot of the men are not at all my type, but some of them seem pretty interesting. Last night I had conversation with one of them – and am going out with him next Monday. I also have a potential date this Saturday. And there’s at least two other guys that I’m interested in meeting in person. It’s pretty exciting. I feel somewhat guilty – because in my heart I know I’m not looking for a husband, and just want to date. I also don’t want my husband to know what I’m doing. I saw him on Sunday and we talked a little bit, but he never tells me what he’s thinking about things or how he’s feeling – a problem while we were married, too. I guess I’ll just take it one date at a time – and be honest with the people I’m seeing where my head is at. At the very least, I might make some new friends.
Last week was a very busy one. I went up to NY on Thursday and spent the night up there. I saw a taping of The Daily Show. It was so much fun. After the taping, we went to dinner and then a Japanese karaoke bar. I was there with 3 girlfriends. We had high hopes of going to the Today Show Friday morning, but we all slept in after having stayed out late (drinking) the night before.
So tonight is my date with Facebook guy. For the first time since moving in to my new apartment, I didn’t sleep well last night. I think it’s because I didn’t feel well (which I think comes from my having gone out last Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday nights), and hope it’s not because I was anxious or having doubts about tonight. I’m sure it’s going to be a lot of fun. Someone (anonymous) responded to my last post that I was the one with the problem with his age – and I know anonymous is right. I just can’t help it. But I had a good conversation with him last week, and am sure tonight will prove to be more of the same.
